USGS Bulletin 614, Guidebook of the Western United States, Part D.,
The Shasta Route and Coast Line by J. S. Diller and others, for sale $20.00

Reprinted with minor corrections.

Numerous fold-out plates showing the topography, railroad stops, towns, mines,
and other features of the country. The scale of these maps is generally about 8
miles to the inch.

Some black and white photographs of features along the way. None, or a least
very few, of the railroad itself.

This series of bulletins on the railroad lines of the west contain not only
considerable data on the geology of the regions the rails pass through, but
also information on the history and geography of the surrounding areas.

There are 13 sheets covering the Shasta route from Seattle, Washington
to San Francisco, California and 6 sheets covering the Coast Line from
Los Angeles to San Francisco.

Well indexed.
