"The Federal Republic of Germany is a country reverberating with color,
and Ernst Haas, the supreme poet of the color camera, presents her in all
her various, exciting tones. Focusing on the atypical as well as the
commonplace, he has recorded people, places, and happenings in his
perceptive, distinctive way that has for years generated international
praise. With agility and verve, he has captured the Germans going about
their routine chores; quaffing beer under the Hofbrau tent during
Oktoberfest; participating in the Cologne Carnival and Stuttgart's
gymnastics festival; strolling along the Elbe, in the old city of
Nuremberg, and through the Luneberg Heath; exploring the vista from
Hamburg's observation tower; and preparing for the Great Regatta during
Kiel Week. He gives us the quaint Germany of narrow, cobbled streets
and enchanting spires and gables, and bustling, industrial Germany
advancing at a remarkable pace."

Plates in very good condition. Dust jacket has numerous small tears, most
taped. DJ fair at best. Some soiling of front and back book covers from tape (?).
